Welcome to the age of technology. It’s not science fiction anymore. We’ve finally reached the point where all of those chips and circuits are handling everyday tasks for us. And they do a great job at it! Let’s look at one of the top units on the market, the Ecovacs Deebot N79 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner.
Manual vacuuming is low tech. It’s up to you to push the vacuum back and forth over the dirty area while the vac picks up the dirt. Robotic vacuuming takes the work out of it. The vac moves around the house, looking for dirt, and saving you a lot of time and energy.
Ecovacs calls their machine brain “Smart Motion.” It selects from several cleaning modes as it travels around. Leave it up to the machine, or control it yourself using the Ecovacs application. Set it to Auto mode and your M79 will go off on its own, use Spot mode for a spill or traffic area, or Edge mode to pay particular attention to edges. There’s also a Single Room mode. It might look like your vac just moving at random, but it knows what it’s doing and will make several passes over each area. And it has multiple sensors that keep it from bumping into obstacles and let it clean right up to the edge of the stairs without falling over.
You can set its schedule and let it clean while you’re away, or run it manually whenever you want. “Manual” doesn’t mean hard work as a traditional vac. You can sit back and manually run your Ecovacs Deebot N79 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner N79 Robotic Vacuum with the remote control or their smartphone app.
Here are the specs:
- Power: Works on 110-120V AC
- Auto charging, up to 100 minutes working time on a charge.
- Auto Charging, the M79 goes back to its dock by itself between cleanings and when its charge is low. A full charge takes 4-5 hours.
- Four working modes: Auto, Spot, Edge, and Single Room
- The Dustbin holds 300 ml, about the size of a large coffee mug.
- High-efficiency filters prevent dust from spreading and is easy on allergies or asthma.
- Time Scheduling starts cleaning automatically, or you can start it manually whenever you want.
The Ecovac Deebot N79 can be controlled from a remote control (included) or from a smartphone app.
The most common setting is Auto Clean. The cleaner goes in a straight line until it bumps into something, then it changes direction.
Spot Cleaning starts a spiral pattern. Use Spot Cleaning for spills or high traffic areas.
Edge Cleaning, as its name implies, runs around the perimeters.
Single room limits the N79’s travels to only one room.
The Return to Charger setting is great when company shows up. One touch and it ends it’s task and goes home to its charger. And it knows to go back to its charger by itself when it’s batteries run low.
Cleaning time and days can be programmed in. Set your Ecovac to run while you’re out.
